New technology. new battlefield, new challengers; Our highly anticipated App Arcade Tournament, Arcadium, was brought back this year to challenge gamers in a new set of app games for a chance to win exciting prizes!
Now on its fifth staging, we made Arcadium even bigger and bolder by transporting our participants to a whole new world of gaming with augmented reality, taking advantage of the diverse real-world environment to create out-of-this-world gameplay.
A.R.cadium is the country’s first-of-its-kind AR App Arcade Tournament, where we tested the skills and smarts of participants through featured games that showcase the augmented reality-readiness of iPhones (SE,6S, 6S Plus, 7, 7 Plus, 8, 8 Plus, X), iPad Pro (9.7, 10.5, 12.9), and iPad (2017). These games are Stack AR, Kings of Pool, Smash Tanks, and The Machines AR.
Anyone who can play any or all of the featured games in A.R.cadium can participate in the tournament.
Both casual and hardcore gamers trooped to Power Mac Center to show off their skills for the chance to take home Apple products and premium accessories. The highest-scorers per game at the end of the tournament period will receive P20,000 worth of Power Mac Center Gift Cheques and exciting products!
“We have leveled up Arcadium to challenge Filipino gamers in a new realm, which is augmented reality. It’s a brilliant way for us to showcase the latest in technology for Apple devices while at the same time doing something fun and exciting for Filipino Apple lovers,” said Power Mac Center Marketing Director Joey Alvarez.
The games commenced on the 9th of June and now, after weeks of exciting gaming, we gathered the best of the best from all over the metro to battle it out in the A.R.cadium Finals held last July 15 at Power Mac Center Ayala Malls Vertis North where we transformed our Playroom into a digital playground.
Almost 50 participants came to prove their abilities and took their shot at the prizes at stake; from stacking bricks, destroying enemy tanks, leading the battlefield, to owning the pool table.
After hours of intense gaming, it was time to find out who will take home the exciting prizes. Three winners per game proved that they are the best.
The 1st Place winners got 20,000 Php worth of Power Mac Center gift certificates and an iPad 5th Generation Wifi 32 GB; 2nd Placers took home gift certificates worth 10,000 Php and a Bose Soundlink Micro Bluetooth Speaker; while the 3rd Placers got an Urbanista Melbourne Bluetooth Speaker and 5,0000 Php worth of gift certificates!
